Second XI Vs Astwood Bank:
Saturday in Campden started on a sad note, with a minute silence held for an old club member from Astwood Bank who had passed away during the week. However, contrary to the forecast, the weather was bright and sunny and having lost the toss, we were put into bat. R Lewis stood firm, later bolstered by R Postins. Lewis put on a stunning 133 before being caught out while Postins went on to 51* leaving Campden 246-6 at tea.

Saturday saw the visit of FISSC to the Bratches. With the sun on their backs, FISSC won the toss and decided to bat.
A tight opening spell of bowling from S Groves brought the 1st wicket to fall with Lindner taking the catch at cover. A cracking catch in the gully from D Moore Jnr saw the no3 back in the pavillion soon after. On Saturday 10th June CCCC 1st 11 took the eagerly anticipated trip to Warwick County Council for the 6th game of an exciting season. Second XI Vs Earlswood Vs:
R Lewis won the toss for a second consecutive week on a windy but bright afternoon and Campden went into bat, opening with A. Parsons and Campden 2nd team debutant S. Bragg. Braggy was bowled for 26 while Parsons went on to score 59 before being run out. Parsons was joined at the crease by G. Felton who went on to score a huge 53 not out, seeing out the overs, while D. Taylor and T. Whitehouse added to the total of 228-3.

Firsts get back to their winning ways!

First XI Vs Rowington: Rowington won the toss and put us into bat first. A very impressive batting display from all 7 batsmen who were needed this week, this began with a mighty start from the opening pair of S Nicholls and D Moore JNR scoring 62 and 33 retrospectively. Our number 3 Batsman, R Sipthorp, stole the show this week, scoring a huge 89 runs before being caught. Follwed by J Hicks contributing a quick fire 55, off of just 31 balls saw our innings end on 280-6 off 45 overs.

CCCC Second XI Vs Kenilworth Wardens V : R Lewis won the toss on an overcast afternoon in Campden and chose to bat. After losing an early wicket (7-1), Campden recovered to 146-2 (of which extras contributed 30 to the partnership!) ending when R Lewis was bowled for 79. Parsons and Robinson put on a quick partnership to propel us to 242-5 after 45 overs.

The weather was on our side yesterday, the rain held off and meant we were one of the few teams to get a game in. Kenilworth loss the toss and Campden elected to bowl first. S Groves and S Nicholls opened the bowling, each taking a wicket. J Groves and D Moore JNR both came on as first change and the wickets started to fall, J Groves taking 2 and D Moore JNR taking 3. Campden Vs Winchcombe

Yesterday we were hosts to Winchcombe First XI. With Winchcombe winning the toss, they put us into bat. After a slow start, and a quick fall of wickets things weren’t looking good for us at 65-5 off 21. The tail rallied well to take us to a total of 208 off 45, with G Nicholls contributing an impressive 49.

1st Games of the season

First game of the season for our First XI was away Vs Kineton and we won by 9 wickets, taking away 23 points! We won the toss and put them into bat. The breakthrough came in the 19th over, when D Moore JNR took our first 2 wickets. Shortly followed by J Groves taking an impressive 4 wickets to take out their middle order. J Lindner and R John concluded the innings, both taking 2 wickets. Kineton left us chasing 180 runs.

Junior Registration Evening!

This year we will be running a registration evening (as per last year) on the 28.4.2017 from 6.00pm-8.00pm This is to allow everyone to register, have a drink, meet the coaches and basically reacquaint with the club.There will be no formal training but Nets will be open, equipment and balls will be available for the Children to play with and generally have fun. U13s WILL be training so please be prepared for that.

Campden chalked up another comfortable victory in under 3 hours at The Bratch against Warwick County Council.

Chipping Campden fall just short

A sound defeat at the hands of the mighty Dumbleton Cricket Club last night - but to talk of loss would be to miss the point of a fantastic underlying performance from the Campden equipe.
Dumbleton started and were quickly (okay, very quickly…) on their way to 75-0, from a singular number of overs. However Campden kept up the fight and kept chipping away with wickets. First XI Cruise To 8 Wicket Victory

Campden maintained their excellent start to the season in the Cotswold Hills League division 2 with a comfortable 8 wicket victory over newly promoted Leek Wootton.
Fielding first on a lively wicket Campden debutant Joe Cafearo was handed the new ball and was the pick of the bowlers claiming 3-16. For a short period the Leek Wootton tail wagged but Dan Moore mopped up the last few wickets, claiming 3-22 leaving Leek Wootton 109 all out in 44 overs.

Chipping Campden Cricket Club, one of the oldest cricket clubs in the Cotswolds, is launching a junior section for the 2015 season. Girls and boys, from the ages of five to eleven, are invited to the club on Friday nights to experience the basics of cricket, make new friends and discover a new sport.
